MATHEMATICS
EDUCATION FOR TEACHERS
For good teaching in
mathematics, one must take into account the three basic categories of content that
offers the Basic Curriculum Design, ie the concepts, procedures and attitudes.
The analysis of mathematical activity and the processes of teaching and
learning in the classroom requires adopting a more detailed epistemological
model, considered as mathematical objects themselves everyday situations,
language, as well as the concepts and procedures. It is necessary to consider
the organization of teaching mathematical processes of problem solving,
representation, communication, justification, connections and
institutionalization.
How can learn math? A
significant mathematics instruction must be given a key role in social
interaction, cooperation, the teacher's speech, communication, and the
interaction of the subject with problem situations. The student teacher must be
aware of the complexity of the task of teaching are critical for meaningful
mathematical learning. It will be necessary to design teaching situations,
implement interaction patterns and take into account the rules that regulate
and affect teaching and learning.
The student teacher should
achieve a favorable attitude to the use of manipulative materials of all kinds,
as elements of didactic situations, but also need to build a critical attitude
to misuse of these resources. The material must be tangible or manipulative
graphic-textual, can be a bridge between reality and mathematical concepts, but
will need to take care not to fall into a blind empiricism nor sterile
formalism.
Key Concepts: Equity.
